Welcome to the Gilford Butler School Website!

We serve 90+ students in kindergarten through second grade from the towns of South Thomaston and Owls Head.

As the only school in South Thomaston, Gilford Butler is very important to the community. Many families have had several generations go through the school and first learn to read, write, calculate and participate in cultural traditions here. Parents, grandparents and extended families participate with enthusiasm in the life of the school.   There are many impressive measures of student achievement; and the school has a tradition of 100% participation at parent conferences.
