Grade 1 Mrs. Tolman

Mrs. Tolman, First Grade

I am delighted to be teaching First Grade at Gilford Butler School. I was raised in Rockland and graduated from Rockland District High School. Next, I began my journey to becoming a teacher by attending the University of Maine. While working toward my degree I was a substitute teacher and ed tech in SAD 5. I did my student teaching at South School in 4th grade and at MacDougal School in a 1st grade classroom. From my experience in the 1st grade classroom under the leadership of Joni Hall, I knew I wanted to teach first grade.

After graduating from UMO with a degree in Elementary Education I began my first year teaching at MacDougal School in Rockland. This year I started my 11th year of teaching and have loved being part of the Gilford Butler community. I live in Rockland with my husband and children, Natalie and Everett.
