Grade 1 Mrs. Protheroe

Mrs. Protheroe, 1st Grade

I graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Early Childhood Development. After graduation I taught in Bangor and then accepted a position teaching in Rockland at McLain School. When McLain closed I taught at South School. When our first daughter came along I stayed home and switched careers working from home for a sub contractor for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  I love teaching and have been working my way back into the classroom, as our three daughters get older.  I taught second grade as a long-term substitute at Gilford Butler three years ago, since then I have been an ed. tech in various positions at Owls Head Central School and Gilford Butler.
I love our school and teaching. I feel very lucky to be here.

I live in South Thomaston with my husband and our three daughters, Emily, Maria, and Sophia. In our free time I love to kayak, garden, and go for walks with our overweight pug, Lola.
